Art Empowers: Healing and Hope for Indigenous Youth in Utah

For 17 years, Art Empowers has provided at-risk Indigenous youth on the Ute Nation Reservation and in Utah’s Uintah Basin with a safe, supportive space for healing, resilience, and community connection.

These children face family instability, generational trauma, chronic illness, and high suicide rates—factors that deeply impact long-term health.

Art Empowers addresses these challenges through mentorship, creative self-expression, cultural traditions, and shared meals, fostering mental well-being, self-worth, and stability.

Prevention Is Healthcare

Healthcare begins with prevention, and this program plays a critical role in reducing long-term health risks. Participants report increased self-esteem, stronger cultural identity, and higher graduation rates — key indicators of improved overall well-being.

A Trusted Ally in Youth Mental Health
